Hardmetal round bars are precision industrial components made from high-hardness tungsten-cobalt (WC-Co) or tungsten-titanium-cobalt (WC-TiC-Co) hardmetal materials. They are widely used in high-end mechanical processing, mould manufacturing, and wear-resistant parts due to their exceptional wear resistance, high strength, and corrosion resistance.
These rods are produced using powder metallurgy sintering technology, combining the high hardness of tungsten carbide with the toughness of cobalt. They achieve a Rockwell hardness (HRA) of over 90, with bending strength exceeding 3000 MPa, and exhibit excellent high-temperature performance (operating temperatures up to 1000°C). Their density typically ranges between 14-15 g/cm³, ensuring dimensional stability and extended service life even under extreme operating conditions.
Standard diameter range: 1-50 mm, length up to 500 mm. Customisation available for composition (e.g. cobalt content 3%-30%) and tolerances (±0.01 mm) according to customer requirements. Surface treatments such as polishing and coating are available to suit different operating conditions.
